Working Bee – November 29th

Thank you for everyone who joined us for the Fairfield Garden Working Bee on Sunday morning 29th November 2015

We got stuck in!!

We prepared the amazing new community space for the installation of the permanent surface, (including shifted a huge pile of scoria!), turning out a whole bay of compost onto the beds meanwhile another team weeded, composted and straw mulched the herb gardens.

Thanks to all for bringing a plate of food to share for the well-earned morning tea afterwards – it was delicious!!

Thanks again, from hosts Yvonne, Karen and Anna.

Wider community

Some of you may be aware of other inspirational social projects going on in Melbourne.

Peppertree Place is one such place…

It is a community garden and place in Coburg where families and communities can come together to learn about growing and preparing fresh food, improving health and enhancing community links.

This creatively designed community space boasts a productive kitchen, classroom and affordable community plant nursery all framed by an historic bluestone church and stables.
